Where do we Fly from? Daytona Sky Tours Airplane Rides depart from Massey Airfield Park in Edgewater, Florida, about a half hour drive from the Daytona area. A location map appears on our Contact page. How do I schedule an Airplane Ride?
Daytona Sky Tours Airplane Rides can be scheduled any day of the week, depending on weather conditions and availability. All flights are by reservation, therefore with more notice there is a greater likelihood of getting the date and time that you wish. Generally, airplane rides book a few days in advance and all flights are first come, first served as they are based on demand that is very unpredictable. We urge you to not hesitate to call on short notice, as there may be openings. We usually begin our flights at 10 AM on weekdays and 9 AM on weekends. Morning flights must be scheduled the day before, same-day flights must be scheduled at least three hours prior to flight, and Very Early “Sunrise” flights are possible to schedule, but are subject to a $50 surcharge. We do accept “walk in” customers if the flight schedule permits. Please Note that weather forecasts may be cause for rescheduling a flight. What route will we Fly, and for how long? Well, we like to think of it as an investment in Fun, but a full description of our Airplane Ride packages and their prices may be found on our Price page. Children under age 18 must fly with a parent of legal guardian. There is a total maximum passenger weight restriction of 500 pounds and a minimum age of 9 years old. How should I dress and what can I bring? You can dress any way that you please but casual and comfortable is always a good bet! Food and drink is not allowed during the Airplane Ride, however we do provide bottled water for the asking. Sunglasses are not necessary, but are recommended, especially on very sunny days. By all means bring your still and video cameras; Cell phones are allowed as well. What about refunds? Canceling a scheduled airplane ride with less than 24 hours notice, failing to show for a flight, or a late arrival that results in you missing the flight will result in your forfeiting of your advance payment. In the event that we can find replacement passengers on the spur of the moment, we will in that instance only, refund your payment. Do you offer Gift Certificates? Yes we do! Gift certificates are the Greatest, Most thoughtful and unique Gift idea for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, holidays and all other special occasions. Gift certificates are valid for one year from date of purchase, although a certificate will never expire as a result of weather cancellations. What forms of Payment do you accept? Cash of course and all Major Credit cards. Is the Airplane Ride safe? Even more than the Fun of a Daytona Sky Tours Airplane Ride, Safety is our Number One concern and Daytona Sky Tours reserves the right to shorten, alter, or cancel any flight to ensure your safety, as well as our own.
We are an FAA Certified Air Tours Operator employing Only FAA Certified Pilots. All of our maintenance is performed by FAA certified mechanics and the aircraft is regularly inspected by FAA Authorized Inspectors. We make everything as safe as possible, but every adventure brings with it an element of risk. Ultimately, you must be the judge of what is an acceptable risk, and you know the types of risk that you accept every day…
Are you insured? Yes, we carry sightseeing insurance, the most expensive and best coverage available. With this policy, drug and alcohol testing is required for all sightseeing pilots. Also, sightseeing flights must depart and land at the same airport and stay within 25 miles of that departure point. So in addition to our own Safety Protocols, these self imposed measures should add additional reassurance to the Safety of a Daytona Sky Tours Airplane Ride. Do I have to sign a waiver? We're very proud of our Safety Initiatives and we wished that this paragraph didn’t even have to exist, but it does. Living in the litigious society that we’ve become, we are compelled to request that you sign a waiver. An adult's signature is required for passengers under 18 years old. You can review and print a copy of this waiver HERE. We are forced to say as well, that if you refuse to sign the waiver prior to the Airplane Ride, you will not be allowed to fly and your reservation will thereafter be treated as a cancellation.
